Marketplace Terms & Auction Rules

Effective August 14, 2026 ยท Version 2026 08 14

1 Marketplace role

VOLKSAUCTION operates an independent enthusiast marketplace that connects buyers and sellers. Unless a listing specifically states otherwise, VOLKSAUCTION is not the owner, manufacturer, dealer, importer, or warrantor of a listed vehicle or part. VOLKSAUCTION is not affiliated with or endorsed by Volkswagen AG or its affiliates.

2 Account eligibility

Members must provide accurate account information, maintain control of their credentials, comply with applicable law, and use only payment methods and payout accounts they are authorized to use. The marketplace may restrict bidding, buying, selling, messaging, or payouts when account risk or compliance controls require review.

3 Seller obligations

Sellers must have the legal right to offer the listed property, accurately disclose known material facts, provide truthful title/ownership information, and cooperate with verification, tax, identity, payout, and transaction requirements. Staff review does not constitute an independent mechanical inspection, title guarantee, appraisal, or warranty.

4 Bidding rules

A bid is an offer to purchase under the listing specific terms. Bids must meet the displayed minimum increment. Sellers may not bid on their own listings, coordinate artificial bidding, manipulate price, or interfere with other bidders. Accounts may be rate limited or restricted by marketplace risk controls.

5 Bidder deposits

Some auctions require a bidder deposit before a bid can be placed. The amount and status are displayed on the listing. Deposits may be held through the payment provider while the auction is active. Non winning eligible deposits are scheduled for refund after settlement. A winning bidder's deposit handling may be governed by the final transaction and any disclosed forfeiture rule.

6 Reserve and auction close

Private reserve amounts are not publicly disclosed. A reserve auction closes as sold only if the highest valid bid meets or exceeds the reserve. A listing may use an anti sniping rule that extends the closing time when a valid bid arrives within the displayed final window interval. The current listing clock and transaction record control over cached browser displays.

7 Fixed price purchases

Starting checkout on a fixed price listing reserves the listing for the payment window shown in the transaction. If the buyer does not complete payment before the deadline, the transaction may be cancelled and the listing may return to active status.

8 Fees and commissions

A listing may include a buyer premium, seller commission percentage, seller fixed fee, or other disclosed marketplace fee. Buyer facing fees are shown before payment. Seller payout is calculated from the recorded sale amount less the configured seller commission. Applicable taxes are added according to the marketplace tax rules configured for the transaction jurisdiction.

9 Payments and funds release

Payments are processed by the configured third party payment provider. A successful payment may enter the marketplace funds hold workflow until release, refund, cancellation, or dispute conditions are satisfied. Seller payout availability may depend on completion of identity, payout, and compliance onboarding.

10 Disputes and refunds

Buyers and sellers must promptly report transaction problems through the account workflow. An open dispute can suspend funds release. Provider disputes, chargebacks, fraud indicators, or legal obligations may supersede normal release timing. Refunds and reversals are subject to payment provider availability and the state of any seller payout already issued.

11 Prohibited conduct

Fraud, shill bidding, impersonation, stolen property, unlawful parts or vehicles, payment evasion, circumvention of marketplace fees, malicious automation, abusive messaging, and attempts to defeat security or risk controls are prohibited.

12 Vehicle and part condition

Used vehicles and parts may have defects, wear, modifications, incomplete history, or conditions not visible in photos. Buyers are responsible for appropriate inspection, title review, transportation planning, registration, insurance, and determining legality or fitment for their intended use.

13 Availability and enforcement

The marketplace may pause listings, reject submissions, remove content, cancel unpaid transactions, preserve audit records, or restrict accounts when necessary to protect users, enforce these terms, comply with law, or maintain service integrity.

14 Changes

When a new active version of a legal document requires acceptance, the platform may require the member to accept the current version before continuing a protected action such as bidding, selling, or paying.
